The Start of the change
One thing that surprised us was that absolutely nothing would grow in the back
yard. Even bushes would last about 2 months.
A soil analysis showed that the previous owners had dumped large amounts of sand
used for leveling. This chemicals used to keep the sand from clumping
were poisonous to plants. In addition, the sand had no moisture holding
properties.
We had to take truck loads of the dirt out and then replace it with topsoil.
